World Bee Day is a day to celebrate the tiny heroes that play a crucial role in our food production. Bees are responsible for pollinating the crops we eat and the crops that feed our farm animals. But the bee populations are declining due to various reasons such as destruction of natural habitats, pests, and diseases. Without bees, our food security and biodiversity are at risk.
Australia is home to around 2,000 species of native bees that have co-evolved with our unique native flora over thousands of years. Some plant species can only be pollinated by a particular species of bee. So, it's crucial to safeguard the existence of bees and other pollinators.
World Bee Day, celebrated on 20th May, is an opportunity to raise awareness about the significance of bees and encourage actions that create more bee-friendly landscapes. Join us in celebrating World Bee Day and take action to create a more bee-friendly environment. Beekeepers and nature conservationists are working together to create improved conditions for bees to build pollination security and to safeguard our food security. Let's celebrate together and do something good for bees!

Support Caring for Kids Australia by sharing profits so that both children in foster care PLUS bees and our environment benefit.
Edie B, Age 8
Meet Edie B, a young and enthusiastic individual who found her passion for bees at the age of 7. Intrigued by the important role bees play in our ecosystem, Edie took it upon herself to research and learn more about these buzzing creatures. Her newfound appreciation for bees ignited a drive to share her knowledge and create awareness of the crucial role they play in our lives.
Driven by a desire to protect bees and their natural habitat, Edie started with creating posters for school and organising a Bee recognition day. She then went on to create 'Bumblegum,' a Bee-themed product, to generate funds for her initiative. Edie's love of bees led her Aunt, the founder of Caring For Kids Australia, to develop a range of Edie B products for her to sell, with profits going to support BOTH bee protection and children in foster care.
Edie's campaign now combines two amazing causes, promoting the importance of supporting those in need while protecting bees and their natural habitat. The profits from purchases and donations will be split between Edie B's awareness campaign and Caring for Kids, supporting children in care and the families that take them into their care.
Edie B's story is an inspiration for all, showing that one person's passion and drive can make a significant impact on the world around us. She continues to work towards her goal of creating awareness and generating funds to protect these essential creatures and support children in need.

Caring for Kids Australia
To enable this ongoing support three child-focussed fundraising brands were created which aligned to her nieces' and nephew's interests, with 100% of profits received by Caring for Kids Australia being utilised to assist children residing in out-of-home care.
Edie B is one of these brands!
Edie's passion for bees along with her desire to assist others has motivated Edie to not only participate in fundraising for Caring for Kids Australia, but also contribute additional profits from the sale of Edie B products to supporting animal conservation and awareness.
By supporting Caring for Kids Australia and purchasing Edie B products, conscientious consumers have an inexpensive way to make a difference and support both children in foster care and the protection of bees, preserving the natural world and the creatures that inhabit it.
